The process of developing our language abilities begins at a very early age but takes many, many years of study and work to become the kind of skill that professionals of all shapes and sizes use to collect and communicate ideas.
This course is designed to further develop the skills that you already posses as we engage with complex and relevant texts and write for a variety of purposes and audiences. Please see the eCampus course for resources and materials to complete classwork and homework. |
Grammar and ConventionsThis year we will focus on developing a vocabulary for talking about our writing and beginning to use that vocabulary to improve our writing.

ReadingReading is often thought of simply turning symbols on a page into words but reading is so much more than that. We must also take those words and make meaning from them.
|
WritingWriting is perhaps the most important of the skills we will work on this year. Our society, culture, and knowledge of the world all depend on individuals' ability to communicate their thoughts and ideas to others.
