Below you will find the link to the website that hosts the two versions of this amazingly difficult game.
http://www.droidquest.com/
You will need to download the Apple II emulator and the RO2.0.zip files.
Unzip them to the same directory.
(On Windows 7, right click on APPLEWIN.exe and select properties. Now click the tab that says "Compatibility" and click the check box next to the compatibility mode.)
Launch APPLEWIN.exe and wait patiently. (It took almost five minutes for it to launch the first time on my computer.)
Select the disk drive, choose ROBOT01.img, press the cute little apple icon.
I'll post a full tutorial for how to get the game to work over the weekend and some ideas you can try if you run into problems getting the game to run.
Here is a the article from Slate that talks about the game: http://www.slate.com/articles/technology/bitwise/2014/01/robot_odyssey_the_hardest_computer_game_of_all_time.html
Here are is a more complete set of instructions for getting the emulator to work on a Windows system. I have tested this on two Windows 7 systems and it works well on both. If you are running Windows 8, please let me know if you run into issues and I will try to figure out a solution.
